Mission Statement

To establish and maintain standards of qualifications and performance for licensed behavioral health professionals in the fields of counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work and substance abuse counseling and to regulate the practice of licensed behavioral health professionals for protection of the public.

Board News

The Board filed a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking with the Office of the Secretary of State on April 29, 2020, and will be reviewing collected feedback at its meeing on September 11, 2020.  For more information, click HERE.
RENEWING soon?  Check out the new CEU Tracker on the Online Services and Forms tab.  This tool can be used to track continuing education by saving it locally to your device and attaching to your online renewal or submitting it by mail with your paper application.
On April 10, 2019, Governor Ducey signed House Bill 2569 which amended A.R.S. § 32-4302 relating to applicants for licensure who are licensed in another state and establish residence in Arizona.  The statute became effective on August 27, 2019.  Additional information is available using the Licensed in Another State or Universal Recognition Quick Links.  The endorsement application can be found on the Applying for Licensure tab.

As of October 1, 2018, the Board has discontinued mailing renewal notifications via USPS, and has converted to distributing them via electronic mail.  It is a licensee's and applicant's responsibility to ensure the Board has a current email address to prevent missing important information.
