Behavioral Health Services

The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners regulates minimum practice standards pursuant to Board rules and statutes.

In addition, behavioral health service providers must follow the code of conduct as listed in each discipline.

• Counseling: American Counselors Association (ACA): ACA Code of Ethics

• Marriage and Family Therapy: American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) - AAMFT Code of Ethics 

• Social Work: National Association of Social Workers (NASW) - NASW Code of Ethics

• Addiction Counseling: Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC) - NAADAC Code of Ethics

If services are not meeting minimum practices standards or code of ethics, you may want to consider filing a complaint.
